Southern Voice just launched the Global Report of its flagship initiative “State of the Sustainable Development Goals” (SVSS) in New York.  SVSS is an empirical research initiative that stands out for being conceptually innovative and policy-relevant, with a unique Global South perspective.

Southern Voice looks at the state of the Sustainable Development Goals around the world. With this analysis, experienced researchers from the Global South fill an existing knowledge gap. They enrich the development discussion with evidence-based analysis.

The empirical analysis focuses on three layers of critical action to achieve the SDGs. You can read about them in the report's individual chapters:

The “State of the SDGs” initiative explores barriers and solutions to fulfilling the ‘leaving no one behind’ promise that is central to the Goals. The report looks at the decade ahead and how the challenges of the 2030 Agenda can be addressed by strengthening societies' collective capabilities. The findings of this research are meant to be a tool for policymakers and practitioners. They can be used to improve and accelerate SDG implementation: “State of the SDGs”: a focus on four closely interconnected collective capabilities” by Marcela Morales, Estefania Charvet, Andrea Ordoñez
