The United Nations Office for South-South Cooperation (UNOSSC) is pleased to commission chapters on the upcoming research publication on “South-South Cooperation on Peace & Development – Engendering Peace & Development Agenda”. The proposed research aims to investigate the potential of South-South cooperation (SSC) and its impact in strengthening a gender sensitive peace and development process. The publication aims to examine challenges, opportunities and potential of SSC and mapping examples from the Global South.

 

UNOSSC invites eligible contributors from the South-South Global Thinkers Network to submit expressions of interest directly responding to one of the following three chapters:

 

  1. Chapter III: The Prospects for Inclusiveness Case Study: South-South Cooperation Potential in Strengthening the Gender Dimension of Peace and Development in Africa (Burundi, Rwanda and Sudan).
  2. Chapter IV: The Prospects for Inclusiveness Case Study: South-South Cooperation Potential in Strengthening the Gender Dimension of Peace and Development in Latin America (Colombia, Guatemala and Nicaragua).
  3. Chapter V: The Prospects for Inclusiveness Case Study: South-South Cooperation Potential in Strengthening the Gender Dimension of Peace and Development in Asia (Indonesia, Nepal and the Philippines)

Attached at the bottom is the concept note for the publication, which include outlines and guiding questions, publication timeline as well as the guidelines for prospective authors. The proposed publication is expected to be published and launched in the fourth quarter of 2020.

 

Interested contributors are required to submit expressions of interest together with an abstract/outline (500 words in length) directly responding to one of the three chapters (III, IV, V). Interested contributes must also submit a CV and list of relevant publications to UNOSSC by 17 January, 2020 for further consideration.
