UNOSSC, UNDP in partnership with China Institute for South-South Cooperation in Agriculture (CISSCA) will be co-hosting an event entitled “Global Thinkers Dialogue: China’s South-South Cooperation in Agriculture” on Friday, 14 September from 10:00-11:30am at the UN Headquarters.
The objective of the event is to introduce CISSCA, which was launched in December 2017, and the services it provides for developing countries. CISSCA provides a platform for developing countries to strengthen South-South cooperation in agriculture and rural development for achieving the SDGs through policy research, mapping good practices and needs in agriculture and rural development. At the event, the China Agriculture University and CISSCA will also launch a publication on "Filling the Knowledge Gap in South-South Cooperation: An Evaluation Framework and its Application in China-Tanzania Cooperation."
The event will be attended by H.E. Mr. Adonia Ayebare, Permanent Representative of the Republic of Uganda and President of High-Level Committee on South-South Cooperation; Prof. Qixin Sun, President, China Agricultural University; Mr. Shenggen Fan, Director General of the International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI); Mr. Xiaoyun Li, Dean, China Institute for South-South Cooperation in Agriculture; and senior officials from FAO, IFAD and WFP.
