This study seeks to understand the enabling factors and lessons learned by Brazilian and Indian cooperation in Africa to implement the SDGs in education and skills development.

Specifically, the study aims to inform policymakers and development cooperation practitioners on the different approaches and instruments used to replicate and scale up South-South cooperation (SSC) in education and skills development by: assessing the enablers of Brazilian and Indian cooperation in education and skills development in Africa and the lessons for the implementation of the SDGs; identifying imperatives for monitoring and evaluation (M&E) of SSC and opportunities to incorporate lessons learned in the design and implementation of future initiatives in education and skills development; and providing initial reflections on how Southern-led policy platforms can further advance the implementation of the SDGs in education and skills development.
