SDG 17 elaborates on the partnerships, financing arrangements and ‘enablers’ required to achieve the Agenda 2030 for Sustainable Development.

The OECD and Northern think tanks have suggested several proposals for new development finance measures, but these discussions have not adequately included the perspectives and voices from the developing world, where such strengthening of statistical systems is most required.

To explore the perspectives from the Global South, the Network of Southern Think Tanks (NeST) and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) host a debate on how to improve data on the contributions of development partners towards the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals.

The debate takes place during the United Nations High Level Political Forum 2017, and can bring insights from the Global South to the Agenda 2030.
